Lisa Schievelbein, Psy.D.

Secretary of the Board (Jan 2020- Dec 2021)
Founding Executive Director (Jan-July 2020)
Licensed Clinical Psychologist (Washington D.C.) and Executive Advisor

As Founding Executive Director, I was proud to guide the Center for Institutional Courage on a path to lasting impact. My perspective is unique, based on 20 years of combined experience in corporate consulting and clinical psychology. As an advisor to Global 500 companies, I know that big institutions are full of smart, kind, courageous leaders who want to do the right thing. And yet, institutional betrayal is a cancer that continues to metastasize in our world, causing incalculable damage to people and institutions alike. This dialectic is at the heart of my work for Courage. In every context, I am dedicated to meeting people where they are, which is the foundation for all sustainable change. As a passionate citizen of Washington D.C., I like to make creative use of my First Amendment rights, enjoy our world-class cultural institutions, and cheer for our courageous baseball team.
